Dr. Wole Michael Olatokun
Dr. Wole Michael Olatokun, a UNESCO Fellow, is currently the acting Director of Africa Regional Centre for Information Science (ARCIS), University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds degrees of master and PhD in Information Science obtained from ARCIS. He teaches the following courses Introduction to Information Science and Theory, Research methods, Research development and management, Information industry trends and strategies and Technical report writing and presentation. He also teaches Current Trends in Information and Communication Technologies, African development information sources and systems and Warning and Response System in Disaster Management in other departments units of the university. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at University of Botswana, Gaborone, Botswana between July 2008 and July 2010. He is on the editorial board of several local and international journals. He was also appointed an Honorary Professor at University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa since January 2013 to date. He has served as external examiner to some universities in Nigeria including Babcock University and Lead City University. His areas of research interest include Social Informatics, Knowledge Management and ICT for Development and Digital Scholarship. He has authored and edited three books and published over 70 articles in local and international journals.
