This is a general call for manuscripts for consideration for publication in Vol. 6, No.1 (March 2021), Vol. 6, No.2 (July 2022), and Vol. 6, No.3 (November 2022).
JISST seeks original manuscripts derived from theoretical and applied research, as well as Opinion Papers, Brief Communications, Book Reviews, Research Letters and Best Student Papers in the various subfields of Information Science and Technology from all parts of the world.
As a guide, field of Information Science and Technology is considered very broadly to include: Archives Studies/Management, Communication Arts/Science, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Science, Information Services, Information Systems, Information Technology, Innovation Management, Library Management, Library Science, Media Science, Media Studies, Records Management, Research and Development Management, Telecommunications, and other related fields, occupations and professions.
Research Letters is focused at highlighting information and information technology related issues of specific interest to African development. Best Student Papers will be a forum for sharing significant research outcomes by Information Science and Technology students across Africa. JISST also welcomes and publishes Letters to the Editor that comment on articles published in it. Conference papers which are substantially revised will be considered for publication.
Manuscripts submitted to JISST must be original, and must not have been published elsewhere, and must not be under consideration for publication by another journal. Manuscripts must be prepared and submitted in conformity to the Manuscript Submission guidelines. Manuscripts can be submitted to JISST at any time during the year.
Each submitted manuscript will be subject to double blind peer review processes which shall be concluded within a period of six weeks. An accepted manuscript will be published in the month immediately following the month of acceptance. As JISST is an online only journal, published papers are freely accessible online for download in PDF format, and no print copies are available. This is in order to minimize editorial and publication cost. Thus, no publication fees are charged to authors for publishing in the journal. These policies are in pursuant of the journal’s goal to ensure fast, cost-free and widely accessible and visible publication of only manuscripts of high quality.
